Southport Water System
Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative
This project consisted of a 341,000 gallon ground storage tank, 4 – 650 (30 hp) high service pumps with variable frequency drives, a gas chlorination system for disinfection and over 75 miles of 4” to 16” water mains. This system currently serves approximately 1,800 customers. This project was funded in two phases by USDA – Rural Development who required a preliminary engineering report. The preliminary engineering report is extensive and covers everything from project cost, feasibility, alternatives, operation and maintenance and loan pay back analysis. The system was also modeled with Watercadd by PRI.
