Brief Description of Project: The Walton County Geopark Bike Trail is 26 miles in length and connects the State Parks of South Walton County, beachfront county parks and the Point Washington Wildlife Management Area into a system to provide for recreation as well as a local transportation alternative. The trail is generally eight [8’] feet wide, constructed of asphalt. Certain areas of privately landscaped areas of the right-of-way, which incorporate a suitable trail [e.g., Seaside], are incorporated into the system.

Location of Project: The plant is located at the intersection of SR 79 and School Road in West Bay.

Brief Description of Project: The project consists of 2 – 7 million gallon ground storage tanks, 7 – 2,650 gpm (150 hp) high service pumps with variable frequency drives and a sodium hypochlorite system for disinfection. The total pumping capacity of the plant is 23 MG per day. PRI was also responsible for performing a hydraulic model of the entire City’s system and are responsible for updating the system as customers are added. Panama City Beach currently serves approximately 45,000 residents. This project allowed 13 potable water wells to be taken off line from the Floridan Aquifer.

Note: This project was funded in two phases by USDA – Rural Development who required a preliminary engineering report. The preliminary engineering report is extensive and covers everything from project cost, feasibility, alternatives, operation and maintenance and loan pay back analysis. The system was also modeled with Watercadd by PRI.
